more prayers; more prayers

Well, the phone call went well. We covered a lot, including my bane of classroom management. We talked about where I was when teaching there before, where I am now, where I would like to be. So, since the decision not to renew my contract was administrative, Mr. Dolan will be presenting the case for pursuing re-hiring me at the board meeting tomorrow night. Oh, the waiting...the waiting. Continued prayers are in order. I'm very happy that Mr. Dolan is pleased with the way our conversation went. He's completely behind me and will be completely behind me before the board. Praying. Praying.

Well, this one goes on the list! I hope you get it!

hope it goes well, ren. i'm curious about your bane of classroom management. are you too lax? are you too strict?

Well, it's generally a difference of opinion about how laid back I am. I don't run an undisciplined class, it's just not a rigorous-looking class. And I rarely use detention, etc. as discipline. I typically use priviledges/loss of priviledges/participation grades as my disciplinary measures. Thus, it doesn't look like I'm doing enough. I did have some issues that cropped up with 5th/6th grade because I didn't nip a couple of things in the bud when I should have, so I was chasing my tail on them for a parge part of the year. Now I know better. :) I hope.

So, have you heard anything yet?
